Round results, sponsors and support, events and more…

I do hope that you enjoyed last weekend’s rest and that you’re ready and raring to go for a great weekend of Marcellin football.

We will hit the ground running on Saturday morning with our Sheagles Seniors lining up at 11:40am at Bulleen Park, and then back to the Nest for another two games at 2:00pm where we will also have our usual afternoon tea (players –   don’t forget to bring your plate along).  There is a great crowd of us who will be putting on our best gear, to kick up our heels at the San Remo Ballroom for the Gala Ball in the eveningSunday sees both the the Baldies teams travel to Beaconsfield to take on Beaconsfield Superules. What another busy week in the life of MOCFC!

Milestone Matches

We congratulate the following fellas for achieving their 50th game anniversary with the MOCFC this Saturday:

Matty DeLuca received a great roasting after training on Thursday evening by his good mate Andrew Menegas, who mentioned that although very humble, Del loves to fish for a compliment.  In saying that, he also noted that Del was one of the toughest opponents he had ever played against.

Matty’s acheivements include: Under 19s Best and Fairest in 2016, close second finish in the Under 19s Best and Fairest last year – 2017(albeit making his senior debut and playing 6 senior games), Under 19s Big V squad nomination as well as being a regular selection in the Seniors.

Del is a great family man, clubman and an all round good bloke. Congratulations mate on your milestone match and I wish you many more milestones in the years to come.” – Andrew

Anthony Salvatore who received a good roast from his old pal Nick Raso after Thursday nights training, mentioned that he had played footy with Salvasince year 7 all the way back in 2009.  He said that “whilst Salva’s fitness had improved tremendously, he’d be the first to admit, he’s still just as slow as he was back in year 7.”

Anthony has had a fluctuating year of footy and has managed to play in the 1’s, 2’s, and 3’s within just three games, but still always manages to impress his teammates with his ongoing love and dedication to not only the game, but most importantly the Nest.

Salva is one of a kind but that is why we love him. Well done on this 50 game milestone. All the best mate.” – Nick

Congratulations Andrew Kay who played in the Premier B – Division 4 Big V side last weekend, where they won three for three to defeat Western Australia Amateur Football League, at Trevor Barker Oval. Well done Andy on your selection in the side, and for also being named as one of the best players on the field in the competition.
