Round results, sponsors and support, events and more…
Great wins and tight and tough footy was the order for Marcellin football last weekend. A number of our teams are serious contenders for the finals competition and all our teams are to be congratulated on their commitment and dedication to our club and the game this year.
Both our Sheagles teams are playing finals games this weekend and have their toughest games to date this year, when they take on the Powerful Melbourne University. We wish them the best of luck and I encourage you to get down and support them on the weekend. The Reserves play at midday on Saturday at Bulleen Park and the Firsts at midday on Sunday at Melbourne University.
The Under 19s and Thirds are both playing for a place in their respective finals at Marcellin tomorrow at 11.40am and 2.00pm. All teams thrive on support – let’s do our bit to get behind them!
Join us at The Harp for our end of season event held after our last home and away game on Saturday 25 August from 7.30pm. We look forward to celebrating the end of the season with dinner, drinks and dancing. Make sure you put the date in your diary and watch out for further information about the night.
Save the date for Presentation night being held on Grand Final Eve Eve Thursday 27 September at Beau Monde International from 7.00pm. Keep an eye out for further information and booking details.
All club members are welcome at these events and we hope that you will be able to join us at either or both.

The Baldies seniors cemented their place in the four and the finals with a 25 point victory over Plenty Valley at War Memorial Park in Greensborough on a cold Sunday afternoon. Matty Greig kicked 3 and Paul Huddo kicked 2 goals on the day, the final score was 13.10–88 – 9.9–63. The Ones final game is in 2 weeks against previous juggernaut team Essendon at the Nest. The Bombers languish on the bottom of the ladder with no wins and a percentage of 20. A win will see the Ones play Coburg in a cut throat semi-final 2 weeks later and hopefully from there, a Grand Final appearance. Go you Bald Thing!
The Baldies reserves battled hard against Plenty Valley last Sunday, unfortunately they went down 5.4–34 – 9.7–61. Congratulations to Grant Hudson who kicked 2 goals on the day.
