Club life is never dull, and being part of a club with such strong community spirit ensures that there is always something exciting happening. It is a pleasure to share with you some of the highlights of the past week of footy – again we have had a round of wins and losses which is all part of this great game. Congratulations to our Sheagles Annnie Xanthos who has been nominated as this weeks VAFAW Rising Star, and Taylor Padfield who was named Vice Captain of the Big V Team. It just proves that putting in such effort on the track week in and week out, really pays off. Well done to you both on this great recognition!

The 50th Annivarsary Gala Ball will be held at the iconic San Remo Ballroom on Saturday 14 July.  This event is the highlight of the MOCFC celebration of its 50 Fabulous years of Marcellin Football. Last week’s results

Congratulations to our Seniors team on their third win in a row defeating Peninsula 17.10–112 – 8.14–62.  What a great win. Best players were: Adrian Bonato, Matthew De Luca, Patrick Hamblin, Jonathon Blanch, Mitchell Jones, Max Di Ciccio and goal kickers Jeremiah Antypas 3, Isaac Nolan 3, Daniel McMahon 3, Matthew Gasparini 2, Matthew De Luca 1, James Robertson 1, Andrew Kay 1, Matthew Capetola 1, Max Di Ciccio 1, and Jonathon Bortolotto 1. Congratulations boys on a fantastic win. This win sees the boys sitting in 4th place on the ladder!

Well done to our Reserves team who also brought home a win against Peninsula on Saturday, with a final score of 13.15–93 – 9.7–61. Best players were: Zac Tolley, Ry Elphinstone, Thomas Dennis, Joseph Licciardi, Thomas Black, and Daniel Lunn. Goal kickers were: Lucas Bosio 3, Matthew Kenna 2, Thomas Dennis 1, Robert Di Roberto 1, Zac Tolley 1, Charlie Smythe 1, Angus McHenry 1, Joseph Licciardi 1, Thomas Black 1, and Mark Andros 1. What a great win fellas, keep up the good work!

The Thirds brought home the points as well with their strong win defeating Mazenod 17.11–113 – 11.12–78. Congratulations to the following fellas who were named as best players on the day: Lucas Mallamace, Daniel Ortisi, Matthew Donnoli, Nicholas Hullick, Aidan Prato, and Jack Curran. Goal kickers were: Lucas Mallamace 6, Daniel Ortisi 5, Nicolas McNamara 3, Aidan Prato 1, Nicholas Hullick 1, and Matthew Donnoli 1. Well done boys on this great win which sees you sitting in 3rd spot on the ladder!

The Under 19’s had a tough game on Saturday and unfortunately went down by just two points to Ormond with a final score of 7.13–55 – 8.9–57. Well done to the best players: James Bateman, Andrew Donnoli, Liam Atherton, William Campitelli, James Way, and Joshua Vassel. Goal kickers were: James Bateman 3, Frank Coxon 1, Joshua Vassel 1, Oliver Rewell 1, and Liam Atherton 1.

Our Baldies Seniors had a great win on Sunday over Essendon with a final score of 25.12–162 – 4.2–26. Well done to all the fellas for this 136 point trouncing over the previously invincible Essendon. Congratulations to “Rambo” Ramsden who kicked 5 goals and Matty Grieg who booted 4 goals and thanks to the great team work of “Shooter” McMahon, “Chubba” Dinneen and “Loz” Furlan.

Well done to the Baldies Reserves on their great win over Essendon defeating them 9.14–68 – 4.4–28. Congratulations to Grant “Huddo” who kicked 3 goals on the day. Keep up the good work fellas and lets hope for another win on Sunday 17 June against Ascot Vale.

The Sheagles Seniors had a tough match on Sunday and were defeated by Melbourne University 3.5–23 – 5.5–35. Best players were Ellie Gavalas, Annie Xanthos, Shaylee Taylor, Jackie Greaves, Tessa Zagontinos and Chiara Moretta.

Our Sheagles Reserves team were defeated by Melbourne University on Sunday in their first loss of the season with a final score of 3.3–21 – 5.5–35. Congratulations to best players Olivia Dikranis, Abbie McNamara, Madeleine Rush, Charlotte Grieve, Rita Mankowska, and Tania Carpinteri. Goal Kickers were: Jennae Wakefield, Taryn Bates, and Olivia Dikranis.
