Round results, sponsors and support, events and more…
It was great to see so many faces down at the Nest last Saturday, with all teams really appreciating the home ground support. As most of you would be aware, last week’s round saw Marcellin’s Seniors take on Fitzroy FC in a hard fought battle right up to the dying minutes of the game. We were fortunate enough to have former AFL St Kilda player and Marcellin old boy Leigh Montagna pull on a jumper and take to the field with our Seniors. Scores were locked for the majority of the game, with Marcellin being in the lead at each break. Unfortunately, Fitzroy kicked away in the last quarter and took the win with a final score of 10.6–66 – 14.5–89. Regardless of the outcome, it was a great demonstration of the mighty eagle spirit.
The Reserves had a tough and tight game last Saturday as well, and were defeated by Fitzroy FC with a final score of 4.8–32 – 6.4–40. Congratulations to best players: Mark Andros, Joseph Licciardi, Matthew Molloy, Thomas Dennis, Lucas Bosio, and Anthony Salvatore. Goal kickers were: Daniel Cullinan 1, Angus McHenry 1, Charles Smythe 1, and Lucas Mallamace 1. Use this weeks rest wisely fellas, in readiness for your next game at home against Old Geelong.
