Another 50th game is on the horizon, as Matt Kenna reaches his 50th game against Ormond this weekend.
After a brief stint at Fitzroy, Kenna made the jump to Marcellin and hasn’t looked back. From his Under 19s to his career in the Reserves, Kenna is known for his toughness and his ability to never quit.
A coaches favourite, we cannot fault Kenna for his continuous effort and intensity.
Kenna is the ultimate teammate – a player held in very high regard by coaches and those he plays with.
In his first year at the club, Kenna was a very handy swingman in the Under 19s. He was a member of the infamous backline cartel who was also known to go forward and kick multiple junk time goals.
Kenna made a seamless transition into the Reserves side in season 2018, proving to be a very reliable teammate both on and off the field. Events such as the Pub Crawl, Nest Ball and silly Sunday saw Kenna prove to all that he was an elite after-hours operator. 2018 also saw Kenna claim his second Coach’s Award, and I have no doubts he will add to this tally by the end of his career.
In 2019, Kenna has once again shown his wears in a very talented Reserves side playing as a half-forward who can also provide some grunt in the midfield. His ability to kick goals and apply forward half pressure are just two of the many reasons why we all love putting the Marcellin jersey on with him.
Congratulations on 50 games Kenna, can’t wait for many more to come.

Congratulations to Kenna on reaching this milestone, and we can’t wait to see the next 50!
