The Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Black into a Player/Coaching role for the Reserves Men in 2020.

In his 180 game career for the Eagles, Thomas has become a mainstay in the back pocket for the Reserves. His efforts were rewarded in 2013, where he featured as a crucial member of the Reserves Premiership team. In 2016 Thomas featured in the Seniors for the majority of the season, and was named Reserves captain in 2017. That year, Thomas led the Reserves to a Grand Final appearance as well as claiming the Reserves Best and Fairest.

As well as this, Thomas has created an environment within the Reserves that welcomes the younger players into the Senior football level. His ability to connect with all members of the club does not go unnoticed, and, through this, has become one of the most entertaining and respected members of our football club. Whether you are a Senior football player or a new Under 19, Thomas will make you feel at home at Marcellin.

With Thomas entering the role, we would like to thank Daniel Redmond for his service as Reserves coach for the past two years. Daniel was Thomas’ teammate in the 2013 Grand Final, and we appreciate all the effort Daniel has put into the Reserves in his coaching tenure.

Thomas’ work rate, skill and determination to the success of the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club makes him an ideal candidate for the Reserves coach position, and we cannot be happier to have him in this position.

Onya Cha!
